Rifle Team

Rifle team is a beneficial way for cadets to learn marksmanship and the proper values of shooting. 

They learn rifle saftey and the basic skills of marksmanship. During competitions everyone shoots ten times in three different positions; prone (laying down), kneeling, standing.

Community Service

Community Service

Each year we try to do as many things as we can for our community.  We participate in the American Legion Veterans Day ceremony and have been a part of the North Carolina Adopt-a-Highway program for more than 20 years. 



Cadets salute the colors while volunteers place wreaths during the VFW Veterans Day Ceremony.


Cadets pick up trash for the Adopt-A-Highway Program. 

This year we also competed in two essay contests. These contests included the VFW Voice of Deomcracy Speech Contest and the Sons of American Revolution History Essay Contest.



These are all of the cadets who participated in the VFW Voice of Democracy Speech Contest. Everyone who particpated was awarded a certificate and a cash prize.



Cadets Dylan Elliott, Teri Jo Lumsden, and Brandon Jordan are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the contest. They were awarded a medal, certificate, and a cash prize.


Cadet Dylan Elliott's speech went on to compete at the state level where he won third place!


Dylan Elliott also won first place in the Sons of the American Revolution History Essay Contest. He was awarded with a medal and a cash prize.

Color Guard

Color Guard

 

Color Guard is a team that provides service to the community, and the school. Color Guard meets every Tuesday and Thursday in order to practice for upcoming events. This year they have participated in over 20 Color Guard events!
