J.F. Webb Marching Warriors Band Camp:
July 21-24 8am-5pm
July 28-30 8am-5pm
Pre Band Camp recommendations:
- Go outside for a few hours a day between now and camp. Your body
will need time to adjust to the temperature and humidity. It would
also be wise to go on a walk about an hour a day to get your body back
into shape some before camp.
- Begin drinking water NOW. Hydration starts BEFORE camp, not during.
- Take out your instrument and practice SOMETHING! It could be from
band last year, years past, or something you randomly find on the
internet to practice. There are tons of free music sites - you can
find pretty much anything!
- Check the lists below to make sure you have all that you need to
start camp. Attendance is MANDATORY unless you make prior arrangements
with Mrs. Townson.
Attire for Band Camp:
- athletic shoes for all members
- shorts for all members
- tshirt for all members
*Must be within GCPS and JFWHS dress code for shirt and short length
- sunglasses
- hat (ball cap or sun hat)
Items to bring for Band Camp:
- GALLON SIZED WATER JUG (it will be HOT outside you need WATER)
- sunscreen
- personal snacks if wanted for breaks (granola bars, fruit, healthy snacks)
- personal lunch (students will not be allowed to go off campus or
door dash food. needs to be healthy options - JUNK FOOD IS NOT RECOMMENDED)
- any and all music from prior marching band seasons (if a returning member)
- your instrument in working order
- extra deodorant
- sports drink like gatorade or powerade (not required but recommended
to have with lunch)
Items NOT ALLOWED:
- junk food
- slides or sandals
- soda
- candy
- crocs
- long pants or sweatshirts (again it will be 80-90 degrees outside)
